William "Bill" L. Penn, 88, husband of Joan Tipler Penn passed away on November 7, 2022.

Bill was born on July 17,1934 to James Rupert and Mary Coursey Penn in Trenton, SC. After he graduated from high school in Trenton, SC in 1952, he went on to study Business Administration at University of Memphis and graduated in1957. After graduating from college, he started his career at Sears Roebuck Co. as a Credit Manager and served in this position until 1985. After retiring from Sears in 1985, he became a Broker at Kriegsman Realty in Greensboro, NC from 1985-1993. Bill and his wife Joan then retired to their farm called Oakway Angus Farms that they owned and managed from 1970-2007. He loved the outdoors working on the farm, raising cattle, beekeeping and collecting tractors. Throughout his life he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and choir member at several churches. He also volunteered with the SC Baptist Disaster Relief Team, American Red Cross Disaster Relief Team, Ridgecrest Conference Center, and Camp McCall. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Rupert and Mary Coursey Penn, his brother James M. Penn, and his two sisters, Mary P. Huffman and June P. Duns. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joan T. Penn; his three children; Susan P. Johnson (Sandy), Bruce Penn (Gayle), and Blair Penn. He was a beloved grandfather to his 3 grandsons: Seth Penn (Chelsea), Matt Johnson (Jody), and Jeff Johnson. He was a great-grandfather to 3 grandsons, Beau, Finn, and Campbell.
