Wendell retired from the US Navy in 1976 after 20 years active duty, 16 of which were overseas, including 4 ½ years in country (Vietnam). He was a Naval Intelligence Specialist and had a total of 30 years' service including 10 years of inactive reserve duty. Dept. of Corrections where he met his love, Mary, they were married 35 years with whom they sailed their 36-foot trawler "Dream Boat Annie".

He enjoyed this for 8 years and retired again so that he and Mary could love and enjoy their RV in their travels all over this beautiful country. He lived a full and accomplished life.
