Wallace Calhoun "Cal" Cassels, Jr., 71, entered into rest December 16, 2021, surrounded by his family, following an extended illness. He was born October 3, 1950, to Wallace Calhoun Cassels, Sr., and Jeanne Lott Cassels. Cal was the devoted husband of Caro Miller Cassels for 47 years. He was a graduate of Strom Thurmond High School and attended The University of South Carolina. He was the owner and operator of Cassels Construction Company and Palmetto LLC and a member of Our Saviour Episcopal Church of the Ridge. Kindness and generosity were Cal's greatest attributes. He is survived by his wife Caro, two daughters Jean Caro Cassels (Joe) and Meredith Miller Cassels Hagan (Greg); two grandchildren, Anna, and Brooke Hagan; and his brother, Stanton Lott Cassels. He was predeceased by his sister, Sandra Cassels Harmon. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Ebenezer Cemetery, Trenton, SC. The family will receive friends after the service at Our Saviour Episcopal Church of the Ridge Parrish Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Saviour Episcopal Church of the Ridge Building Fund, 212 Church St., Trenton, SC 29847.
