Howard Wates, Jr., 73, husband of Kathlean (Kitty) Wates, died Sunday March 20, 2016. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday March 22, 2016 at 11 AM at Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the grave. Mr. Wates was a native of Edgefield County and the son of Sarah Holmes Wates and the late Vernon Howard Wates, Sr. He was a Case IH Dealer in Johnston for 32 years and a retired shop supervisor from Aiken County. He was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, and his mother; 1 son, Vernon H. (Bo) Wates, III and wife Robin; 1 daughter, Sara Lee Wates; 1 grandson, Dalton Wates; 2 sisters, Ginny W. (Jimmy) Pardue, and Beth W. (Billy) Young.
