Thelma Delores Griffis

Delores Griffis died peacefully in her home in Bath, SC on February 12, 2026. The daughter of Byrd and Mae Griffis, she was born in Augusta, Georgia and raised in Edgefield, SC. After graduating from business college, she was employed by Clearwater Finishing Plant as secretary for the plant president. Later she worked in law offices and for the Augusta Symphony. Her organizational skills were appreciated by all who knew her.

She enjoyed music and laughter. She found happiness in the outdoors; attending to flowers and plants. She had a deep love for all animals. “Sophie” and “Taco” were her cherished pets in recent years.

As a youth, Delores was baptized at First Baptist Church of Edgefield which guided her faith throughtout her life. A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held on March 5, 2026 at 11am at Warrenville United Methodist Church, 120 Timmerman St., Warrenville, SC.
