Sara Godbee Cheatham, 90, of Bauskett St., Edgefield, SC entered into rest on July 13, 2022. Sara was born in Edgefield, SC as the daughter of the late Tannie and Lilly Godbee. She was the youngest of 10 siblings. She is survived by four children, Ginny (Don) North, Wendi (Richard) Shaffer, John (Debbie) Cheatham and Bill (Charlotte) Cheatham. She is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, JW Cheatham. She has 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. In her lifetime, she taught preschool at Edgefield First Baptist Church, was a buyer for Belk Department Store and worked at the Edgefield Tax Assessors office until she retired. With a love and devotion to her family, family traditions were important to her. At holidays and family gatherings, you would find her surrounded by family and friends. She loved to cook and bake. Her recipe books would be full of marked pages that she shared with her family on many occasions. In addition to her love for her family, she enjoyed the outdoors. Some of her happy moments were enjoying God's beautiful creation of nature. Family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Friday, July 15th, 2022, at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home, 801 Columbia rd. Edgefield, SC. A graveside service will be held at 11am, Saturday, July 16th, 2022, at Sunset Gardens Memorial Cemetery, 1339 Columbia Rd. Johnston, SC.
