Robert Edward Fallaw

 Robert Edward Fallaw passed away on June 6, 2026, in Aiken, South Carolina. Born on November 2, 1937, and raised in Ridge Spring, South Carolina, Robert was the son of the late Dan and Mary Grace (Autry) Fallaw. After graduating from Ridge Spring High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960. Following his military service, he began a distinguished career at the Savannah River Site, where he held various positions and retired as a Safety Engineer after 34 years in 1995.

 Robert made his home in Ridge Spring with his wife of 66 years, Betty Jean (Wooley) Fallaw. Together, they enjoyed attending sporting events, shopping, and serving at their church. They especially enjoyed annual summer beach vacations with their family when all of their grandchildren were together. One of Robert’s greatest pleasures was watching his grandchildren play baseball, golf, volleyball, softball, dance and cheer, encouraging them every step of the way.

 Robert was an active member of Philippi Baptist Church where he served faithfully in the choir, as a Trustee, Deacon and in numerous other capacities. He also served as Sunday School Director for 26 years.

 Robert was an enthusiastic Clemson fan who enjoyed following Clemson athletics. He also loved spending time outdoors, working in his yard, hunting, fishing, and playing softball for many years.

 Robert is survived by his loving wife, Betty Jean (Wooley) Fallaw; his children, Mark Edward Fallaw (Helen) and David Eugene Fallaw (Angela); five grandchildren, Robert, Elise, Charlie, Mary Grace, and Lela Fallaw; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and by his three siblings, Barbara Riley, Mary Hallman, and Daniel Fallaw.

 The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home located at 801 Columbia Road, Edgefield, South Carolina 29824.

 A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Philippi Baptist Church, 125 Steeple Road, Johnston, South Carolina 29832, with a graveside service immediately following.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Philippi Baptist Church, 203 Pine Knoll Lane, Edgefield, South Carolina 29832.
