Robert Eugene "Gene" Rushton, 67, of Bland Baptist Rd., Johnston, SC husband of Darlene Timmerman Rushton entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 4 PM Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside. Mr. Rushton was born in Saluda, SC and was the son of the late Benjamin Robert and Martha Casey Rushton. He was retired from Savannah River Site and a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Strom Thurmond High School and Clemson University. He loved the Lord, his family, friends, anything orange and everything outdoors. Survivors include his wife, one son, Ryan Rushton (Brooke); two grandchildren, Vance, and Maggie Rushton; two sisters, Judy McCutcheon (Rick), and Sandra Sain (Chuck). He was predeceased by two sons, Dustin, and Travis Rushton. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Cemetery Fund c/o Tim Berry, 705 Edisto St., Johnston, SC 29832.
