Emergency Physician Dr. Richard Joseph Guobaitis, 50, of Miami, died Friday February 24, 2012 in Florida. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday March 1, 2012 at 11 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Dr. Guobaitis was born in Albany, NY and was raised in Edgefield, S.C. He was the son of the late Vince Guobaitis and Mrs. Nancy Taustobaite Guobaitis. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was an Emergency Physician. Survivors include his mother, 2 Daughters- Laura Guobaitis, and Helena Guobaitis; 1 Brother- Vincent K. Guobaitis; 2 nephews- Richard Berry, and Michael Guobaitis; 1 niece- Lindsey G. Bracken. Mr. Guobaitis was predeceased by his sister Helen Berry. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 302 Jeter St. Edgefield, S.C. 29824.
