Daughter, wife, and friend, Rebekah Bearden Robeson, age 37, now sings God’s praises, fully healed and at peace before His throne. On February 20, 2026, Rebekah passed peacefully in her sleep, with her husband of 13 years by her side in their home, surrounded by love and cherished memories.
Born on December 28, 1988, in Sherman, Texas, Rebekah moved throughout the Southeast with her family as they served in church ministry; her life revolved around her family, music, and faith. After they settled in Augusta, she attended Augusta University, majoring in Musical Theater with a minor in Spanish - both of which she would go on to use extensively throughout her life.
After marrying her husband, John Robeson, they made their home in Edgefield, South Carolina. There, while serving up smiles and ice cream scoops at the Edgefield General Store, she poured love into the community, all while continuing to pursue her passion for musical theater in Aiken and Augusta, often amazing audiences and fellow cast members alike with her beauty, passion, and talent.
She later transitioned into her dream job of teaching high school students at Wardlaw Academy. As a Spanish and Drama teacher for four years, she worked with every ounce of creativity and passion she possessed to teach and love her students well. She truly loved what she did and the students she taught.
Heavily involved in her home church, Edgefield First Baptist, Rebekah faithfully served in worship, choir, and children’s ministries. She was known throughout the community for her kindness, radiant smile, and joy that touched everyone and everything around her.
She is survived by her husband, John; her father, Greg; her mother, Gay; her sister, Sarah; and her brother, Andrew, as well as her three beloved puppies Banjo, Blue, and Pockets. She leaves a shining legacy of love and faith as an example to all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at Edgefield First Baptist Church in Edgefield, South Carolina, on February 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial love offerings can be made to the church in her name, or to the Augusta Players Jr. in honor of her work inspiring musical theater youth. However, if flowers are your preference, she loved yellow.
