Retired from Goldkist Mr. Ray Hammond, 86, of Flat Rock Rd., husband of Lourie Doolittle Hammond, died Wednesday September 14, 2011 at the Medical College of Georgia. Funeral Services will be held Sunday September 18, 2011 at 2 P.M. at Red Oak Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Hammond was a native of Edgefield County and attended Red Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was retired from Goldkist and was a WW II Army Veteran. Survivors include his wife, 1 son- Lawrence (Lynn) Hammond, 1 Grandchild- Olyvia (P.L.) Miller; 3 Great-Grandchildren- Preston, Mayson, and Payton; 1 Brother- Clyde Hammond. The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 7 P.M. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
