Rainey Hasting Higginbottom, 63 after a long illness he passed away peacefully in his sleep and is a believer of Jesus Christ.

Rainey was a long-time resident of Eureka, SC. He was born on May 20, 1962, in Aiken, SC to Mae and Hasting Higginbottom. He was a very successful entrepreneur and was highly respected for his ability to operate any type of heavy equipment. He loved fixing up old guns and loved old cars like his 1970 Bronco and Mustangs. He loved working at his ponds, stocking them, fishing and hunting. Rainey loved to cook and feed everyone; his real home was in the kitchen.

Rainey wanted to be remembered first and foremost by loving his savior Jesus Christ. He adored all those that were blessed to have had a conversation with him, he was a very comical man. Rainey leaves behind his loving wife of forty-two years Kelly, daughter Serena (Marcus), their children Kholeman, Ryleigh and Marcus, son Rainey (Meghann), their children Rainey and Stormey, son Dustin (Shelby), their son Zane, adopted grandson Jacob Anthony, sister Linda Herron and an amazing number of nieces and nephews that he absolutely adored.

Rainey also wanted me to mention the amazing employees he trained and cared for as his own family for twenty plus years.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home, 801 Columbia Rd. Edgefield, SC. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
