Obituary

Patricia D. Spencer 79, of Mount Vintage North Augusta, SC, peacefully entered eternal life on December 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late William and Alice Wiltse Dunn. She was born on November 3, 1945 in Albany, NY. Pat cherished her childhood days at the Dunn family homestead on "The Hill" of Rensselaer Heights, NY.

Pat was a proud graduate of St. John's Academy, where she met the love of her life, John Spencer. They celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage, having tied the knot on April 4, 1964. Pat pursued her education at Hudson Valley Community College and worked as a dental hygienist in Washington DC while John served in the Marine Corps.

The couple eventually settled in Bridgeport, NY, where they raised their three children and built their dream home. Pat had a flair for decorating with antiques and a green thumb for gardening, filling their home with beauty and warmth.

Pat's career was marked by her success at Little Peddler, where she earned the title of Peddler of the Year. She later founded the Patricia D. Spencer Insurance Agency in DeWitt, NY. After relocating to Mount Vintage, SC, Pat became an active member of the Mount Vintage Women's Canasta group and loved exploring antique shops with friends.

Above all, Pat treasured her family, traveling the world, and dancing the night away with John. Their adventures took them to 46 states and numerous countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and nine European nations. Her strong Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Edgefield, SC.

Pat leaves behind her beloved husband John, her children Suzanne Wilkinson (Wayne) of Chambersburg, PA, Joyce Felder of Winter Park, FL, and John Spencer II (Karin) of Bridgeport, NY, as well as eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A joyful celebration of Pat's life will be held with a Catholic funeral mass at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Edgefield, SC, on December 28, 2024, at noon, officiated by Reverend Kentigern Aririguzo. The family will welcome friends after the mass in the parish Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 302 Jeter Street, Edgefield, SC 29824.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
