Retired Textile Worker Mr. Nelson G. (Peanut) Smith, 81, of Calhoun St., husband of the late Lillie Vaughan Smith, died Tuesday June 4, 2013 at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11 A.M. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home with burial in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Edgefield. Mr. Smith was a native of Pelzer, S.C. and was a retired Textile Worker. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion. Survivors include 1 son- Nelson G. Smith, Jr.; 1 Daughter- Mary S. Corley; 2 Brothers- Richard Smith and David Wilson; 2 Sisters- Sue Stewart and Rachel Sherriff; 2 Grandchildren- Jennifer and Taylor Corley.
