Nancy Ann Smith, 86 wife of the late Douglas Smith peacefully passed away on April 2, 2026, in Johnston, South Carolina. Born on January 16, 1940, in Adrian, Michigan as the daughter of the late Ruth and John Naylor.
Nancy’s career journey was notably enriched through her work in the parts department at Jones Wheel House, where she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was a loving homemaker, nurturing her household with unwavering care and affection. Nancy lived a life marked by dedication to her family and community.
She is survived by her son, David Smith, and his wife, Shelly; her daughter, Susan Smith; as well as her grandchildren, Scott Smith and Julie Burgos, along with Julie’s husband, Chris. Nancy’s legacy also continues through her great-grandchildren, Luke Burgos and Noah Burgos, who brought immense joy to her later years. Her family circle extended to her sisters, Connie Jackson, and Pam McLeod along with her husband Rick. Nancy’s family and friends will always remember her fondly, alongside Winston, her beloved dog, whose companionship was a cherished part of her life.
Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Juanette Schoonover. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her, reflecting a life filled with love, strength, and kindness.
