Michael Lee Hammond

April 16, 1960 – May 3, 2025

Michael Lee Hammond, age 65, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Born on April 16, 1960, he was the beloved son of the late Jack and Pat Hammond.

Though Mike faced profound challenges throughout his life, he was a source of quiet strength and gentle spirit to those who knew and cared for him. He spent most of his life at the Whitten Center in Clinton, SC, and later at the Burton Center in Ware Shoals, SC, where he received compassionate and dedicated care. His family is deeply grateful to the many caregivers who offered not just support, but true love and dignity to Mike throughout the years. Their calling is a blessing beyond words.

The family also extends heartfelt thanks to the medical team at Self Regional Medical Center for the comfort and care provided during Mike's final days.

Mike is survived by his sisters, Diane Humphries (Claude) and Nancy Allen (Mike), as well as nieces and nephews.

Though he faced many limitations in this life, Mike is now whole and safe in the arms of Jesus. His gentle presence will be missed and fondly remembered. A private service will be held at a later date.
