Owner of Monk's BP Mr. Michael F. "Monk" Coleman, Sr., 68, of Weaver Road, husband of Marion Poston Coleman, died Sunday at his residence. Graveside services will be held Thursday Dec. 11, 2014 at 3 P.M. at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Edgefield. Mr. Coleman was a native of Edgefield, S.C. and was the son of Viola Harris Coleman and the late Thomas L. Coleman. He was the owner of Monk's BP in Johnston, and he worked Part-time at the Edgefield County Recycling Center. Survivors include his wife; his mother; 2 sons- Michael F. "Monk" Coleman, Jr. and his wife Crystal, Thomas M. "Tank" Coleman; 1 Brother- Tim Coleman; 2 Sisters- Becky Myers, and Debra Palmer; and a pet companion Weenie Dog Coleman. The family is at the home of Michael Coleman, Jr. on Woodyard Road and will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. before the service at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
