Obituary

Marvin Edward Jackson, born on October 20, 1952, in Edgefield, South Carolina, departed this life on July 9, 2026, in Trenton, SC. Marvin leaves behind a legacy woven from the very fabric of devotion, resilience, and unwavering love, one that will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved him.

From his earliest days in Edgefield, Marvin’s humble beginnings nurtured an unbreakable work ethic and a deep, lifelong appreciation for the land. His heart was always most at peace when he was outside, working the soil, listening to the quiet rhythm of nature surrounding his land, or simply enjoying a moment of solitude under the wide Carolina sky. The joy he found in the outdoors became more than just a personal passion, it grew into a way of life, generously shared with family.

Marvin found great satisfaction being one of the proud operators of Jackson Deer Processing. He enjoyed the hours, energy, and care he put into his work relishing the sense of purpose and fulfillment it brought him. His commitment was evident not just in the quality of his work, but in the way he treated every customer with fairness, warmth, and an open heart.

Nothing, however, surpassed the depth of Marvin’s love for his family. He was a steadfast pillar of strength, forever devoted to each and every member. Surviving Marvin is his beloved daughter, Missy Tindall, whose presence brightened Marvin’s world; her devoted spouse, Nick. His son, Paul Jackson, who shared in the family’s traditions; and Alison his spouse. Marvin was the proud grandfather to Brandon Tindall and Wyatt Jackson, whose milestones and laughter warmed his life, and a happy great-grandfather to Madeline Tindall, whose very existence was a spark of joy. He is also mourned by his brother Roy Jackson, and sisters Glenda Hart and Pat Busbee, who each have their own tapestry of memories built with Marvin over the years.

Marvin is now reunited with his loving parents, Ethel Boatwright Jackson and J.B. Jackson, who preceded him in death and from whom he inherited a legacy of kindness, hard work, and grace.

Known for his extremely hard-working nature and devotion to those he loved, Marvin’s quiet strength and gentle wisdom touched everyone he encountered. The lessons he imparted through words, through actions, and through the example of a life lived with integrity will endure in the hearts of his family and all who were privileged to share in his journey.

A graveside service will be held at 10AM, Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will greet friends following the service.
