Martha Quarles Hamilton, 91 of Edgefield County, wife of the love of her life Hartwell H. "Bootsie" Hamilton passed away quietly in her sleep on December 26, 2025.

Martha is survived by her children Calvin (Kathryn) Hamilton, Anne (Rickey) Bishop, Pat Hamilton, Grandchildren Leslie (Tim) Wise, great-grandchildren Jack Wise, Logan Wise, Kycee and Connor. She mourned the loss of her son Perry Hamilton and grand-daughter Meagan Bishop.

Martha was a member of Red Oak Grove Baptist Church and retired as manager of the linen services at University Hospital. She loved babies, puppies, flowers and plants; all the things she could nurture and grow.

Martha was born in the fruit hill area of Saluda County as the daughter of the late Walter L. and Beatrice Jones Quarles. She is survived by her sisters Fay Forrest and Judy Rawl and many nephews, nieces and cousins of the Quarles and Hamilton families. She is predeceased by her siblings Walter L. Quarles Jr., Margaret Herrin, Virginia Willing, Jean Jackson, Claudine Boling and Johnny Quarles.

A visitation will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home, 801 Columbia Rd. with services following to start directly at 1:00pm.
