IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marion Smith
Marrow
October 13, 1932 – June 27, 2025
With immense sadness and deep love we announce the passing of Marion Smith Marrow, who left us on June 27, 2025. Born on October 13,1932, Marion graced our lives with her unwavering love, kindness, and strength. She was not only a cherished member of our family but also a beloved figure who touched the lives of many throughout the years.
Most of her adult life was spent living in the Appalachian Mountains of Ducktown, Tennessee. There she worked as Cafeteria Manager for Ducktown Elementary School, retiring after 44 years of service. She loved her job, but mainly she loved the children, and always made sure each and every one was well fed daily.
Marion, Mom as she was known to all, was a lady filled with compassion and generosity, always putting others before herself. Her love and dedication to her family, her kindness and warmth, gave joy to everyone she encountered. She welcomed everyone, and had the unique ability of making all feel special as she prepared and placed delicious meals upon the table, which gave her great joy as friends and family gathered round.
Throughout her life she enjoyed many hobbies. Gardening, growing both vegetables and flowers, was among her favorites. Another was hunting and fishing in her prime years. One special talent she had was that of crocheting, which she enjoyed during those cold winter days.
Preceded in death by her husband RM (Ralph) Marrow, she leaves behind her daughter, Kathy (Katherine) Marrow and her life partner, Brian Moyer: her granddaughter, Keelie Brewer, and her husband Justin Brewer: her grandsons that she loved so deeply, James Brewer and Will (William) Brewer: sister, Edna Clark: sister Joyce Insley and her husband Olin Insley: many nieces and nephews and their children: and many more extended family members, former son-in-law Alvin Langley: very special friend, Barbara Langley and her husband Marvin all whom shall forever hold her memory dear and keep her spirit in their hearts:.
Many people touched her life and she loved and appreciated each and every one.
A celebration of Marion's remarkable long life of 92 years will take place at Berea Baptist Church on July 18, 2025 at 12:00pm.. We shall gather in honor of her beautiful soul, share memories, and find joy in each other's company. Mom loved flowers, but she also loved feeding people, therefore, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her honor to Feedy Needy Elderly Ministry of Edgefield, SC. ( 803-480-1255), as they have been very kind to her. She enjoyed those visits greatly and expressed the worthiness of the organization. It wasn't just the delicious meal, but the thoughtfulness of those visitors who delivered the meal and the chats they had together.
Mom, Marion, will be deeply missed, but the spirit of her kindness and love will live on within the hearts of each and everyone she touched.
May she rest in eternal peace.
