Lucy Lindley Seigler Williams, a cherished member of the McCormick, South Carolina community, passed away on April 13, 2026, in Greenwood, South Carolina. Born on June 11, 1932, in McCormick, SC, Lucy devoted much of her life to her family and her community. She retired from Milliken & Company as a textile worker, where her dedication and commitment were well recognized and appreciated by colleagues and friends alike.
Lucy was a faithful member of the First Bethany Baptist Church in McCormick, SC, where she found spiritual joy and fellowship throughout her life. Her strong faith was a cornerstone of her character and a source of comfort to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Minnie Hodges Lindley, and father, John Thomas Lindley. Lucy also mourned the loss of her dear husband Meach Williams, her first husband William C. "Buddy" Seigler Jr., her son William C. "Billy" Seigler III and the loss of her grandson Thomas E. "Bucky" Seigler. Lucy also is remembered fondly by her numerous siblings who have passed on: Marie Hastings, Walter Lindley, Nellie Lawton, Thomas Lindley, Daisy Willis, William Lindley, Minnie Bowick, Helen Willis, Frances Rabun, Marshall Lindley, Leonard Lindley, Sam Lindley, Guilford Lindley, Herbert Lindley, Mary Jane Self, and Claude Lindley.
Lucy’s loving and surviving family includes her daughter Kathy Hollingsworth and her husband Charles; grandchildren Kristy Wates and her husband Herbie, Leslie Robertson and her husband Chris, Greg Seigler and his wife Jennifer, and Autumn Joy Moder and her husband Harrison. Her legacy is further carried on by nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren who were a source of great joy and pride to her.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate Lucy's life will be held at First Bethany Baptist Church, 853 U.S. 378, McCormick, SC 29835, on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., followed by burial at Overbrook Cemetery located on U.S. 221 North Highway, McCormick, SC. The burial service will commence at 12:00 p.m.
Lucy Lindley Seigler Williams will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her dedication to her work, and the immense love she held for her family and community. Her commitment and kindness left a memorable mark on all whose lives she touched.
Family, friends, and all who knew Lucy are invited to honor her memory by attending the services. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery. Memorials may be sent to First Bethany Baptist Church at 853 U.S. Highway 378 East, McCormick, SC 29835, in memory of Lucy.
