Lequite Hoover Slate, 78, wife of the late Rev. Donald H. Slate, died Thursday August 31, 2017. Funeral Services will be held Sunday September 3, 2017 at 2 PM at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home with burial to follow in Eastview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM before the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Slate was born in Edgefield County and was the daughter of the late Howard O. and Daisy Gray Hoover. She was a retired Textile worker and a member of Full Gospel Holiness Church. Survivors include; 1 son, Donnie (Pam) Slate; 6 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Inez Black.
