Mr. Lee Terrell Mathis, Sr., 94, of Edgefield, husband of Katherine Hammond Mathis, died Wednesday December 19, 2012 at the Edgefield County Hospital. Funeral Services will be held Saturday December 22, 2012 at 11 A.M. at Peace Haven Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Mathis was a native of Edgefield, S.C. and a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church. He was a retired Plumber and Electrical Contractor. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Hezzie Griffis Post # 30 and the Edgefield Lion's Club. Survivors include his wife, 2 sons- Lee Terrell (Terry) Mathis, Jr. and his wife Sharon, William H. (Bill) Mathis and his wife , Laurel; 4 Grandchildren- Melissa (Jamie) Whitlock, Jason Mathis, Isabella Mathis, Jenna Mathis; 1 Great-Grandson- Luke Whitlock; 2 Sisters- Dorothy (Bob) Rummel, Rose Morgan. He was predeceased by a son John Edward Mathis. Memorials may be made to Peace Haven Baptist Church c/o Jack Harling, 3386 Martintown Rd.
