Juan "Miguel" Agudiez was born in La Isabela Puerto Plata on August 30, 1949, where Christopher Columbus landed in the new world in Dominican Republic. He attended Santiago Technical University in Santiago and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. He married and raised 3 children and worked as a schoolteacher and administrator. He immigrated to the United States in the 1980s and worked in New York and New Jersey in the dry-cleaning industry. He then found his true gardening passion and worked at Lowes in North Bergen NJ running the garden center. He had a loyal following and appeared in Lowe's TV ads. He and his partner of 28 years retired to Johnston SC in 2016. He transformed the former Mary Edwards' home into a garden showplace where he grew his own plants and offered his plants and friendly and helpful advice to everyone that stopped by. He was tragically taken from all of us on July 31, 2023, while tending his garden.

He is survived by his son Henry of Sequim WA, son Brauny of Virginia Beach, VA, his daughter Zaira of Philadelphia PA, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and partner, Eric Hagelstein.

A celebration of life will be held at 5:00pm on August 4, 2023, at Johnston Chapel with visitation being held from 4:00pm-5:00pm.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Mercantile Funeral Home Johnston Chapel.

Asistió a la Universidad Técnica de Santiago en Santiago de los Caballeros y se graduó con una Licenciatura en Artes. Se casó y crió a 3 hijos y trabajó como maestro de escuela y administrador. Emigró a los Estados Unidos en la década de 1980s y trabajó en Nueva York y Nueva Jersey en la industria de la Lavanderia. Luego encontró su verdadera pasión por la jardinería y trabajó en Lowes en North Bergen NJ dirigiendo el centro de jardinería. Tenía seguidores leales y apareció en anuncios de televisión de Lowe's. Él y su compañero de 28 años se retiraron en Johnston, Carolina del Sur en 2016. Transformó la antigua casa de Mary Edwards en un jardín donde cultivó sus propias plantas y ofreció sus consejos amigables y útiles a todos los que se detuvieron. Fue trágicamente arrebatado de todos nosotros el 31 de Julio de 2023, mientras cuidaba su jardín.

Le sobreviven su hijo Henry de Sequim Washington, su hijo Brauny de Virginia Beach, Virginia, su hija Zaira de Filadelfia Pensilvania, 8 nietos, 1 bisnieto y su compañero, Eric Hagelstein.

Se llevará a cabo una celebración de vida a las 5:00 p.m. el 4 de agosto de 2023 en la Capilla de Johnston, Carolina del Sur con visitas de 4:00 p.m. a 5:00 p.m.
