Joyce Bush Busby, born August 18, 1944, in Edgefield, South Carolina, peacefully passed away on April 4, 2026, in Augusta, Georgia. She was a devoted and compassionate individual whose life was marked by dedication, warmth, and an unyielding commitment to her family and community.
Joyce built a career as a bookkeeper with Augusta Roofing Company, where she worked diligently before retiring. Beyond her professional life, she was a cherished member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church, where her faith and fellowship were central to her daily life.
She was known for her generous spirit, epitomized by the deep love she extended not only to her own children but also to the friends of her children, whom she raised as if they were her own.

She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Tyra Murrell, Marsha Rearden, Mindy Cockrell, and Ricky Bush.
She was predeceased by her brothers Ronnie, Marshall, and William Bush, and her parents, William Avery Bush and Pearl Beatrice Bryant Bush. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A visitation with family will be held on April 8, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the home of Marsha and Chan Rearden, located on Calhoun Street in Johnston, South Carolina.
Joyce’s life was rich with kindness, love, and service, and she will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory remains a beacon of comfort and inspiration.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, in keeping with Joyce’s compassion, remembrances be made in support of VARC.org.
