John David Wight, 75 of Rainsford Rd., Edgefield husband of Constance "Connie" Stevens Wight entered into rest on Saturday, June 3, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, June 8, 2023, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Edgefield with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Church cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at a reception after the service at Sean's Residence on Rainsford Rd., Edgefield, SC 29824.

John was born in Beaufort, SC to the late Rebecca Carter Wight and the late Franklyn C. Wight. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a retired Mortgage Banker, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Edgefield. He was a beloved husband of fifty-one years, father, grandfather "papa", brother and uncle. He was a humble and loving person to all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Connie; three children, Sean A. Wight, Ashley W. Greek (Mark), and Matthew C. Wight (Heather); four grandchildren, Brooks A. Wight, Tison P. Wight, Eva Catherine Greek, and Mackenzie C. Greek; one brother, Thomas F. Wight; four sisters, Helen W. Pawley (William), Patricia W. Rainsford (Albert), Carol W. Robinson (Beryl), and Martha W. Whitaker; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
