John Wesley Tuten, 87, husband of the late Mary Strother Tuten entered into rest on October 9, 2022.

John was born in Jasper County as the son of the late Annie Mae Prince Tuten and Charles Tuten. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer for the U.S. Coast Guard.

John is survived by one son John W. (Shannon) Tuten, Jr., one grandson Christopher Tuten, one brother Curtis Tuten. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Sarah Tuten.

Memorials may be made in the memory of John W. Tuten at The American Legion Post 30 at PO Box 30 Edgefield, SC 29824.

Family will receive friends during visitation on Thursday 6:00pm-8:00pm, October 20, 2022, at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home, 801 Columbia Rd. Edgefield, SC.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
