Smith, Jr. Edgefield, SC Mr. John Lee Smith, Jr., 88 husband of Betty Bush Smith, died Wednesday May 11, 2016 at University Hospital. Funeral Services will be held Saturday May 14, 2016 at 11 AM at Sweetwater Baptist Church with burial to follow at Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM before the Service at Sweetwater Baptist Church. Mr. Smith was a native of Edgefield County and was the son of the late John L and Nannie Tucker Smith, Sr.. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a retired Textile worker. Survivors include his wife; 1 stepson, Michael R. Jones; and 1 stepdaughter, Carla Price; 4 step grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Mamie Shaver Smith.
