Jewell Clark Edwards, 94, of Johnston, South Carolina died November 3, 2018 at the Edgefield County Hospital after a short illness. A visitation will be in the Lon Knight Building of the First Baptist Church from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Wednesday, November 7, 2018, with a graveside service to follow at 2 PM in the Mt. of Olives Cemetery in Johnston, SC. Mrs. Edwards was born in Johnston to Elizabeth Brunson and Claude Mahlon Clark. After attending the local schools, she graduated from Winthrop University and the University of South Carolina. She taught in the Edgefield County School System and finished her career in administration. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, E. Forrest Edwards. She is survived by two children, Leisa Edwards (Tom) Long and Forrest Mahlon Edwards; five grandchildren, Julie Long (Todd) Shirley, David Forrest (Jamie) Long, Lauren Edwards (Robbie) Liles, Jamie Edwards (Fran) Johnson, and Forrest Mahlon Edwards, Jr.; and five great grandchildren.
