Jewel West Quarles, 100, wife of the late John Carroll Quarles of Parksville entered into rest on February 23, 2023.

Jewel was born in Edgefield, SC as the daughter of the late Olive Prince West and John Henry West. She was a member of Parksville Baptist Church where she played the piano since 1976. Jewel retired from Crest Manufacturing Company and was co-owner of Quarles grocery store.

Jewel is survived by her three grandchildren Lynn (Franky) Walker, Ferrel Percival, Sherry (Mark) Atkinson, two sisters Doris Kemp, Delaine Miller, one great-grandson Tank (Samantha) Walker, two great-great-grandchildren Josh and Olivia Walker, one son-in-law Clarence Brown. Jewel is predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law Carolyn (Spencer) Percival Brown, siblings W.A. West, Lowell West, Lizzie Gallman, Frank West and Edith McDaniel.

Services will be held at 11am, Monday February 27th, 2023, at Parksville Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
