James Samuel Yonce, 86 of Johnston, SC entered into rest on August 25, 2024.

James known by his friends and family as Jimmy was born in Aiken, SC as the son of Nell Randall Yonce and Horace E. Yonce. Jimmy graduated from Johnston High School in 1956 and was employed by Graniteville Company following graduation. Jimmy began taking a railroad transportation course and by 1967 he was employed by CSX Railroad until his retirement.

Jimmy is survived by one brother Ray E. Yonce (Joyce)of Edgefield, one sister Patricia Y. Fox (Ronnie) of Abbeville, nieces and nephews Andy Yonce, Debra Branham (John), Dean Rodgers (Barbie), Eddie Rodgers, Keith Gregory (Suzanne). Predeceased by one sister Linda Y. Gregory and brother Carroll E. Yonce.

A service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday on August 29, 2024, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1186 Mount Calvary Rd. Johnston, SC 29832. The family will receive friends following the service back at the church. Memorials may be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
