Helen Virginia Whitten, 88 of McCormick, SC entered into rest on March 27, 2023.

Helen was born in McCormick, SC as the daughter of Ida Mae Turnage Whitten and James C. Whitten. Helen retired from Union Camp Paper Company as a machine operator in Atlanta, Ga. She was known for having an immaculate house and enjoyed tending to her many flowers. She also enjoyed spending time with her very large family.

Helen is survived by her son Richard "Ricky" E. Banks (Deborah), two sisters Cornelia Jones, Berta Wideman, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her two sons Charles and Steve Banks.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, March 30th, 2023, at Overbrook Cemetery

Hwy 221 McCormick, SC 29835. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
