Harriet Holmes Satcher of Murrells Inlet, SC
July 1, 1949 – May 12, 2021
Passed away peacefully at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Augusta, GA, to the late L D Holmes, Jr., and Katherine Brabham Holmes. She was raised in Trenton, SC, where she was a lifelong resident until she moved to Murrells Inlet in 2017 to be closer to family. She graduated from St. Mary's of Sewannee High School in 1967 and Palmer College in 1969. She retired from the United States Postal Service where she was a rural mail carrier for 25 years. She was an active member of Our Savior Episcopal Church in Trenton, SC. She loved cooking, entertaining, her family and especially her five grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Katey Satcher Felts (Jase) of Georgetown, Bess Satcher Winn (Roger) of Columbia, 5 grandchildren – Satcher Felts, Mary Miller Felts, Rone Felts, Walker Winn and Annabelle Winn, and her brother, L. David Holmes III of Trenton. She is predeceased by her younger brother Julian Cullum Holmes of Asheville, NC.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 17 from 6-8pm at The Old Timber Lodge (The Williams Pool House) and the funeral will be graveside at Our Savior Episcopal Church, Trenton at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 18. Due to COVID-19 social distancing will be observed and facial masks requested.
Memorials may be made to the Charity of One's Choice.
