Frances Catherine Berry of Greenville, SC, died on October 9, 2019. Born on November 27, 1923 in Ward, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jefferson Thaddeus Berry and Fannie Christian Strom of Ward, SC. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Francis Edward Berry, and by her oldest son, Charles Edward Berry. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Mercantile Funeral Home-Johnston Chapel, 384 Lee St., Johnston, SC. Burial will be in Mt. of Olives Cemetery in Johnston, SC. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM before the service at Mercantile Funeral Home-Johnston Chapel. Catherine was educated in the public schools of Ward, SC. She loved basketball. She was a member of Northgate Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. She loved traveling, and spent some of her happiest days traveling throughout the U.S. with her husband Ed. She was a wonderful cook. Catherine was a truly happy person. She brought joy and warmth to everyone who knew her. Her greatest pleasure was in her family, and she leaves them with wonderful memories of love, affection, and laughter. We will miss her terribly. Catherine was the mother of 4 children; the late Charles Edward (Linda), Francis Colie (Shirley), Gene Strom (Caryn), and Cathy Jane Crabtree (John). She was the adored grandmother of Clark (Becki) Berry, Charles "Chuck"(Jennifer) Berry Jr., Leighanne Berry Williams, Cassie (Chris) Crabtree Heller, Melissa (Mark) Berry Baqui, and Mary Crabtree Rice. She was blessed with 11 great grandchildren; Katie, Lindsey, Caroline, Jonathan, Bryce, and Kenadie Berry, Mason Rogers and Marley Baqui, Kayleigh Williams, Charlie Rice, and Lucy Cate Heller. The family extends its' heartfelt gratitude to Ibby Bradford, Catherine's friend and caregiver for the past 12 years. The family also thanks the staff of Providence Care for their care and kindness.
