Effie M. McDowell Edgefield, S.C. Effie Moore McDowell, 94 of Mims St., wife of the late Felix Lake McDowell, died Tuesday December 13, 2016 at Edgefield County Hospital. Funeral Services will be held Thursday December 15, 2016 at 2 PM at Berea Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Cooley officiating, burial to follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Cemetery in Edgefield, S.C. Mrs. McDowell was born in Edgefield County and was the daughter of the Cal and Pearlie Mae Thompson Moore. She was retired from Crest Manufacturing Company and was a member of Berea Baptist Church. Survivors include 3 sons; F. L. (Linda) McDowell, John (Cookie) McDowell, and James (Carol) McDowell; 1 daughter Dorothy (Ronnie) Baughcome; 3 sisters; Mary Sue Hill, Margaret Godfrey, and Janie Lee (Junior) Godfrey; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Frances McDowell; 3 sisters; and 3 brothers. Memorials may be made to Berea Baptist Church c/o Mrs. Emma Covar, 508 Bausket St. Edgefield, S.C. 29824.
