Donald Ray Avant, 72 husband of Josephine Morabe Avant of Edgefield, SC entered into rest on July 15, 2023.

Donald was born in Bowman, SC as the son of Mildred and Barnell Watts Avant. He was a retired appliance repairman as well as a United States Army Veteran. Donald was of the methodist faith.

Survivors include his seven children Donald Avant Jr., Travis (Julie) Avant, Angelina (Chris) Parker, Christina (Rick) Ewing, Jason Dharyll M. Penaflor, John Dexter M. Penaflor, Jholarry Dave M. Penaflor, one brother Steve Hiott, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A service with close friends and family will take place at 10:00am, Thursday on July 20, 2023, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
