Mr. Clyde Alvin Hammond, Sr., of Hwy 23 West, died Thursday April 4, 2013 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held Saturday April 6, 2013 at 2 P.M. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home with burial in Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Edgefield. Mr. Hammond was a native of Edgefield County and was of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and the retired owner of Hammond's Texaco Station. Survivors include 1 daughter- Audrey (Eric) Melchior; 1 son- Alvin (Jill) Hammond; 3 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren and a special friend Jenny Banner. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. before the service at the funeral home.
