Retired Bookkeeper Mrs. Barbara Dukes Self, 71, wife of the late William M. (Mid) Self, Jr., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 24, 2012 while surrounded by family in her home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 11 A.M. at Parksville Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. Self was a native of McCormick County and was a retired bookkeeper for Long Cane Academy. She was an active and lifelong member of Parksville Baptist Church. She was predeceased by a son, William Middleton Self, III. Survivors include a son, Howard L. (Susan) Self, Raleigh, N.C., a daughter-in-law- Lee Self, Fairfax, Va.; 5 grandchildren- Cassie, Trey, Taylor, Graison, and Burris.
