Amey Robinson Hammond, 72, wife of Glenn Hammond of Garrett Rd., Edgefield, SC entered into rest on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Monday, July 29, 2019 at Peace Haven Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.
Mrs. Hammond was a loving wife, mother, and grandmama and was 1 of 10 children born to the late William T. and Lillian L. Adams Robinson. Amey was a lifelong member of Sweetwater Baptist Church where she was saved and baptized at the age of 8 years old, she encouraged her grandchildren to attend church. She and her sister Nettie cleaned the church for $3.00 a week to help get them through school with "A" honor roll. She was a Sunday School Teacher for 5 years, part time employee of the NWTF and was 11 years with the Quail Unlimited, also she was cashier for Old McDonalds Fish Camp a few years when they 1st opened and the last 3 years that she was able with the Edgefield Co. Hospital. She was in the banking business for 33 years serving in all position.
Survivors include her husband Glen of 53 years; one son, Paul G., III (Christina) Hammond; one daughter, Lannette (Chris) Armstrong; four grandchildren, Chris, Hammond, Stanton, and Mary; two sisters, Nettie Jones, and Janice Trotter; and four brothers, Jackie, Pete, Charlie, and Steve Robinson. She was predeceased by one sister and two brothers.
